¿Qué es expansión de la deportación acelerada?

La deportación acelerada significa que los funcionarios de inmigración podrian deportar a alguien sin darle la oportunidad de hablar primero con un juez de inmigración, lo que normalmente se requiere.

¿Qué significa esto?

Segun esta nueva regla, si usted ingresó a los Estados Unidos sin estatus, debe poder demonstrar que ha estado en lost Estados Unidos durante al menos los últimos dos años para evitar la expulsión acelerada y proteger su derecho a hablar con un juez de inmigración puedan deportarlo.

¿Qué hacer?

Debido a esto, todas las personas que ingresaron a los Estados Unidos sin estatus y que han estado en los Estados Unidoes durante al menos dos años deben de cargar pruebas. Una forma sencilla de hacerlo es guardar fotos de documentos en su teléfono.

¿Cuales documentos debes de cargar?

• Documentos que inmigración le entregó en la frontera que muestren la fecha en que ingresó a los Estados Unidos (es decir, un aviso de comparecencia - Notice to Appear)

• Documentos de inscripción escolar para niños

• Registros médicos que muestran cuando usted fue a una cita médica en los Estados Unidos

• Correo con su nombre, dirección y una fecha de hace más de dos años

• Estado de cuenta de tarjetas de debito que muestran compras realizadas en los Estados Unidos hace más de dos años

What is the expansion of expedited removal?

Immigration officials could deport you without giving you an opportunity to talk to an immigration judge first, which is normally required.

What does this mean?

Under this new rule, if you entered the United States without status, you need to be able to show that you have been in the United States for at least the past two years in order to avoid expedited removal and protect your right to speak to an immigration judge before immigration officials can deport you.

What can you do?

We encourage everyone who entered the United States without status and who has been in the United States for at least two years to carry proof of that with them. One easy way to do this is by keeping photos of documents on your phone.

what type of documents do i need?

• Documents that immigration gave you at the border showing the date you entered the United States (i.e. Notice to Appear)

• School enrollment documents for children

• Medical records showing when you went to a medical appointment in the United States

• Mail listing your name, address, and a date more than two years ago

• Amazon or other receipts showing your name, a location in the United States and a date more than two years ago

• Debit card statements showing purchases you made in the United States more than two years ago

Border Patrol enforces immigration laws at and between ports of entry, especially within 100 miles of the southern and northern border.

You will most likely interact with ICE at home, work, or public spaces .

• ICE also can ask about citizenship and immigration status

• ICE is responsible for interior enforcement, detention, and removal operations

• ICE uses unmarked cars

• ICE agents drive unmarked vehicles

  • Without license plates, or with new plates without numbers

  • These cars almost always have tinted windows

ICE agents are often in plain clothes but they do have to identify themselves if you ask them to.
